My Practice

Approach

My paintings are an extension of snippets of my own life and walk in Christ. Whether in praise or meditating on God's goodness, and life's seasons, each piece is a unique expression of the beautiful and complexity of life, moment by moment - piece by piece. I believe expressive painting is a radical medium by which my internal song is captured, and shared with the world.

A song on canvas

Ease (2026)

30x40in Acrylic on canvas sealed with high gloss varnish.Ease is an experimental piece that found its completion while meditating on how God leads. A friend reminded me that He never pressures, hurries, nor leads us to act in haste. Patient. Kind. A Good Father that is intentional about every facet and detail of our lives.

Forest Greens & Stillness

Refuge (2026)

30x40in Acrylic on canvas sealed with high gloss varnishRefuge is a piece that was started while meditating Psalm 3. It started technically and emotionally turbulent with heavy strokes of red against green and washes of color dried in differing directions. The illuminating layer of titanium white, cadmium and deep yellow burst from the corners with a dense refreshing hill of vegetation and abstract floral depictions.I love spending my time outdoors appreciating the beauty of nature. As I spent time with The Lord during a trail walk, I was overwhelmed and in awe of God's beauty and intentionality behind creation. For this piece, it was my chief desire to communicate that wonder in manner that invites the eyes into the memory.
